3D Gaming Daily has posted a review of Activision's latest FPS for the PC, Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

"Play style is not as frantic as I expected for a FPS game given the pace of Wolfenstein 3D. Actually it feels like a throw back to the original Escape from Castle Wolfenstein, combining both action and stealth elements. The nice thing about most of the missions in RTCW is that you can approach them from either angle."

Games Xtreme recently posted their review of Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Here is a tidbit of waht they thought:

"Overall RTCW is a reasonably good game, It will of course get a good reception as it is an id software game but it does not deserve it really. The presentation isn’t the best in the world and while the graphics and sounds are great, everything else kinda sucks."

Activision and id Software have announced the Return to Castle Wolfenstein "Battle for the Beachhead" tournament, which will run from January 29 through March 12, 2002. The online competition will be hosted by the Online Gaming League, and it will feature a variety of prizes.

WomenGamers.com presents a detailed review by member Johnny_Was on the first-person shooter Return to Castle Wolfenstein:

"...if you only like single player gaming, wait until Wolfenstein is a bit cheaper, and then buy it. It's a fun ride; just don't expect it to change your life. If you're a multiplayer fan who digs the shooter form and is looking for something more involving than the usual deathmatch, then you should stop what you're doing and go get a copy..."

A modern remake of id Software's 1992 classic, Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a collaboration between id, Gray Matter Studios, Nerve Software as well as publisher Activision. The game, built on the Quake III Arena engine, provides an action-oriented experience in a World War II fictional-historical setting, and we see what it has to offer gamers.
