EA's NCAA Football was one game I enjoyed playing last year because it focused on college football. This year's model looks ready to take the excitement level up another notch starting with 3Dfx support and a new high resolution 3-D polygon engine. Hopefully what this will translate into for gamers is greater detail and good gameplay.
What looks really exciting is the new "Dynasty Mode" for the PC version. After talking with Greg Zesinger for a moment at E3, the way I understand it is that coaches have contracts. Depending on the quality of seasons you've had, and the school you choose to represent, the possibility of getting fired or a contract renewal comes into play. At this time I'm not sure what level of depth this will have, but just the thought of having those types of issues in game is intriguing to say the least.
You will also have the ability to assign coaches- for recruiting to assistants on up to the head coach. The higher profile a coach has the more likely the chance of landing a better recruit. So depending on the caliber of player that you are after, you may opt to send the head coach out for a better shot at landing a player. This in itself could lead to some interesting possibilities and decisions. Let's just hope its all in for the release!
