Wild Arms Alter Code: F alters your world

Wild Arms is a fun and intriguing walk through the realm of anime in the form of a RPG. One of the best parts of the RPG aspects of the game, is the ability to learn about each of the characters while playing the game.
You start out taking each character through their own little adventure. While on these adventures you get to learn a little about each of their abilities and backgrounds. The stories eventually intertwine to where they cross paths and work together. Each character has unique abilities which complement each other. This makes you a very formidable force to be reckoned with. Learn what their strengths and abilities are to help make the battles seem easy.
The storyline does a great job of keeping the game moving along and well connected. As you start out you start with the prologue which allows you to learn about each of the three main characters. There is one section of the prologue for each of the characters. In each of these sections you learn each characters backgrounds and learn what some of their skills are. The end of each section alludes to what is going on that will force these three characters to meet up and forge a formidable team. Be sure to read each book that you have the ability to read and look at everything for it may give you a clue to a puzzle solution later in the game.
The game play was a good mix of puzzles, adventures and RPG. You get to gain levels and learn new skills to develop each character like other RPG games. Some of the puzzles in the game were easy and some were very tough. The overall mix of the puzzles was good. About the only part I was disappointed with as far as the game play was the monsters that I battled. Most I found pretty easy to kill and often times too frequent. I also did not feel like there was enough variety of monsters in many of the sections of the game. When I got stuck trying to figure out a puzzle or section of the maze it got a little annoying at times when every time I moved a little ways I ran into another group of monsters which was the same as the last group and just as easy to kill. Maybe it was just frustration for missing the answer to the puzzle but it still would have been nice to see a little more variety and maybe fewer monsters in some areas. It was real nice to be able to save the game anywhere as long as you had a Gimel coin. If you didn’t have one then you had to wait for specific areas to save your game.
The graphics were true to anime. You feel like you are part of an anime series throughout the game. The movements are cartoon like how they should be. The environment around you is very pleasing to the eye and interesting to look at. It was fun to walk around a bit in some areas just to see some of the attention to detail. The romp through the map to get to the next town or area for the next task was less than stellar, but then again it is just to get you from point A to point B and the towns and dungeons more than made up for it. Another nice feature was the ability to rotate your character and get a 360 degree view. You also had the ability to zoom in and out which helped in finding things around the area.
Overall I would have to give this game high marks for its completeness. The game has a mixture of everything and lacked very little. It is a very well thought out storyline which is fun to follow along and work your way through it while developing the characters. When I started playing the game I found myself losing track of time and being determined to complete the task. Go get yourself a copy and discover anime by playing a game.
