Infinium Labs, creators of the up and coming Phantom Console, have threatened to sue hardware site HardOCP for an article they did last year about Infinium Labs and their CEO.
I read the article and they called it like they saw it, as far as I'm concerned. Maybe Infinium has found a loophole in the article that will allow them to sue? It happend before with Penny-Arcade. Often times, a company will threaten lawsuit because they know the other party doesn't want to hassle with the courts..
Personally, I won't be buying a Phantom, 110% for sure now. They ARE a shady company, just as OCP has exposed. If they start employing tactics like this more often, NO ONE will buy their console and subscribe to their "service". I think at this point, the only way they can turn around their image to the online community (the only place people really know about the Phantom) is by releasing the console and actually delivering on ALL their promises AND give us a real kick ass console. I won't be holding my breathe, however. The ONLY thing they've really proved to us up until now is that they're really anal and they can't take criticism... especially about their image and their console.
