The rapid response to the "threat" (were we REALLY that worried about the hydrazine or the secrets?), and apparrent stunning success give me some hope.

The technology and knowledge learned in  such a successful high speed intercept provides "some" (most likely small) hope against a killer comet, asteroid, rougue ballistic nuke. At the least, it is more than we had prior. We can intercept an inbound body at closing speeds of near 30k mph....
