Hardcore Multimedia TM family grows with EV SonicXS 4.1 and EV SonicXJR 2.1
written by: Chris Moody on 10/23/2002 7:44:00 AM

Minneapolis, MN (October 23, 2002) Telex Communications, and its professional audio subsidiary Electro-Voice, announced today two extensions of their critically acclaimed line of Hardcore Multimedia speaker systems. The line was launched in April of this year with EV SonicXS and features aggressive aesthetics and performance that draw heavily upon the proven acoustical engineering of Electo-Voice's nightclub and concert speaker designs.

EV SonicXS 4.1 takes the performance of EV SonicXS and doubles it. Four satellites deliver complete 3D audio immersion. XS 4.1 delivers the same crisp highs, rich midrange and thunderous bass that XS has been know for, while incorporating surround sound to maximize the gaming experience. Total system power is rated at 365 watts of max output, and the system features satellite mounted system power and volume control, fader and tone adjustment. The sub also features a system bass volume control. Suggested retail price for EV SonicXS 4.1 is $299.99 and they are currently available at CompUSA and on-line at www.hardcoremultimedia.com. EV SonicXJR 2.1 brings the same commitment to category defining performance to the mid-priced product category. Designed to meet the needs of price-sensitive gamers, EV SonicXJR features a unique stage-monitor design that can be used either horizontally or vertically. XJR puts out 120 watts of max system power and has satellite mounted system volume and bass volume controls. EV SonicXJR is also available at CompUSA and has a suggested retail price of $99.99.

Additional detail for both systems can be found at www.hardcoremultimedia.com .

"Electro-Voice has been manufacturing concert-quality speakers for over 75 years," said Tim Klabunde, Marketing Manager for the line. "Our team of in-house engineers knows what it takes to make great sound, and these products are natural extensions of the line-up. XS 4.1 delivers ultra-premium performance to those who are into 3D sound, and XJR brings all the attitude and performance of Hardcore Multimedia to whole new audience. We are very excited about the line expansion."
