Gamers Europe has posted their review of Savage: The Battle for Newerth.
"...when using mêlée weapons the game switches to a third person view, and there are only two other buttons used - attack or block. This results in stunningly fluid and responsive hand-to-hand combat. We haven't seen this concept well executed by a game... well, ever, but Savage has nailed it."
Games Xtreme has posted their preview of Savage: The Battle for Newerth much too late to be considered a real preview despite the preview code.
"The game draws in the the dynamics and feel of any online FPS and merges it with the resource control and strategy of an RTS. The big difference between this game and other real time strategy games is that each unit is played by an online player."
Action Vault posts its third Savage: The Battle For Newerth Q&A.
"As an action player, I would have to say my two favorite maps would be Bunker and Moss. Bunker has a lot of unique shapes and paths. It also has both command centers located at higher elevations. This makes for interesting strategy both offensively and defensively.""Playing in the action layer, the game mechanics are pretty much what you'd expect from a typical shooter, yet the commander-squad dynamic arguably lends a uniqueness within the realm of team and clan-based gaming."
