Microsoft Game Studios and Ensemble Studios today announced that GameSpy is providing matchmaking services for “Age of Empires,” “Age of Empires: Rise of Rome,” “Age of Empires II” and “Age of Empires II: The Conquerors.”

Players can use GameSpy to access a wide range of features including player created ladders, game specific forums, friends lists and easy to download patches. Users can download the GameSpy Arcade software directly at http://www.gamespyarcade.com/download. Gamers can enjoy the core matchmaking services from GameSpy free of cost. Premium services are also available.

Once the software is downloaded, users will then need a valid e-mail address to register. Upon installation, GameSpy Arcade will scan the user’s computer for supported games installed and automatically populate the “My Games” list.
