July 06, 2004 - Today Square Enix has finally announced a release date for the latest Final Fantasy XI expansion: Chains of Promethia. Set for a September 16 release, Chains of Promethia is the first retail expansion for the North American market.
The date stated is officially for the expansions Japanese release, but Square Enix is still set to have a world-wide simultanious launch, so you can likely expect North American and European gamers to get the expansion on the same date, so the Japanese won't get the jump on us this time.
