Being an NPR Junkie, I had to post that All Things Considered has reviewed GTA3. You'll need Real Audio Player. As it's audio, there's no blurb, but here's a description:

"The video game Grand Theft Auto III has sold millions of copies. In the game, the player plays the role of a carjacking, murdering criminal. And some are concerned that the game's violence is unsuitable for younger players. Reviewer Robert Holt, however, sees beyond the violence into the complexity of the game."

GameSpot has posted their review of GTA 3 for the PS2. Here is a little of what they found:

"...While the violent nature of the game will surely turn some people off and kids simply shouldn't be allowed anywhere near it, Grand Theft Auto III is, quite simply, an incredible experience that shouldn't be missed by anyone mature enough to handle it."

GameSpy has added a preview of GTA3 for the PS2.

"There are over 60 missions and about 100 side missions available throughout the city along with a host of vehicles, weapons, and characters to meet and interact with all ensuring a lengthy adventure. It's really elevating itself from a simple arcade game this time around and almost into a full fledged adventure game thanks to the involved quest, number of options, and top notch presentation."
