July 12, 2004 - Today, at a press conference held in Tokyo, Sony announced their plan to officially unveil their next generation console before the end of fiscal year 2004, followed by a fully playable demonstration at e3 2005. President Ken Kutaragi gave a prospective schedule for the systems unveiling, stating the company would like to unveil the next generation system in unplayable form by the end of the fiscal year (April), and then follow that up with e3 and the Tokyo Game Show where he hopes the system will be in fully playable form.
Hot diggidy! Looks like we may not have to wait until May to get our look at the next gen consoles after all. Be sure to check back often, because we'll be following this one very closely.
