Sony hints at PSP pricing

Chris Deering, president of Sony Europe, talks about the PSP and it's launch at the end of 2004. In Europe, it's going to cost roughly 200 UKP which is equal to about $370 USD. Yikes!
Sony's Cell processor one step closer to reality

Sony's much vaunted and likely overhyped 'Cell' processor will begin sampling in March of 2004. Tentative launch for the PS3 is the end of 2005. Expect a cure for Cancer, AIDS, Herpies and World Peace to follow the launch of this 'super computer on a chip'.
PS2 Sells 60 Million Units Worldwide

Indie Magazine reports that
Sony Computer Entertainment has sold 60 million
PS2 units worldwide.
"Sony Computer Entertainment Inc (SCEI) has announced it has sold some 60 million units of PlayStation 2 worldwide since the March 2000 launch, reaching the milestone some 13 months faster than its predecessor."
PS3 To Offer Backward Compatibility

"Ken Kutaragi, boss of Sony Computer Entertainment, has been quoted in Japanese publication Asahi Shimbun as confirming that the next incarnation of the PlayStation will offer backward compatibility with the PS2, and therefore naturally also with the PSone."
PS3 will NOT feature "Cell" CPU, nor be named "PS3"

The article above talks about the Cell CPU and it's absence in the PS3. I've also heard (through the Grape Vine) that the PS3 will in fact, NOT be called the Playstation 3. More to come as I find out more.
Y's 1 and 2 to come to PS2.

According to Evil Avatar they are working on remaking Y's 1 and 2 for the PS2 featuring "new cut scenes, enhanced sound & music and other undisclosed features." No word if it will ever leave Japan though.

Here's a tidbit from Gamespot:
"Enix and Square have revealed plans for a merger that will take effect next April. The merger will exchange Square shares for Enix shares, so Enix will be the dominant corporation when the deal is complete."

Check out the screens of the soon to be release Arcade game. It's running on PS2-based hardware, so we assume a quick release to the console world.

Gamers Europe has recently posted their preview of the upcoming PS2 game Big Mutha Truckers. Here is a bit of what they thought:
