PSP price and battery life!
written by: James Cooper on 10/28/2004 11:02:59 PM

After countless months of speculation and hoopla, Sony has finally lifted the lid on pricing and battery life for the Playstation Portable. On top of that, it has declined any speculation that the PSP would not launch in December in Japan as expected.

On December 12th, the launch date for the PSP in Japan, the PSP will launch for 19,800 yen, which translates to $185, which, when considering some speculated prices of the $300 range, is fairly attractive.

Perhaps even more important than the price point is the announcement of the handhelds battery life, which Sony states will be four to six hours for gameplay, and four to five hours for movies.

The PSP will be launched with 2 different packages: a standard package including the PSP, the AC adapter and a battery pack, and a value pack which will launch at 24,800 yen ($232) which will come with a 32MB Memory Stick Duo, headphones and a carry case.

All that’s really left for Sony to reveal now is the launch lineup, and we’ll have everything we’ve been waiting for since PSPs announcement at e3.
