Cutting edge music has always been important in the cutting edge gaming industry and now the roles have been reversed. Microsoft Corporation has announced that their XBox division will be the presenting sponsor of the 2003 Lollapalooza.
This sponsorship will be one of the largest for XBox since it's release nearly a year and a half ago. A GameRiot pavilion will be hosting gaming competitions, contests and free playtime. Everyone from casual to hard-core gamers will have activities to keep them busy.
Co-owner and originator of Lollapalooza, Perry Farrell states, “I love a challenge, and while we’re on the road, I get off on Xbox. We are practicing our music for the tour and our video gaming skills for tournament.”
Mitch Koch, corporate VP of marketing for Xbox at Microsoft said of his own involvement, "Knowing how closely the Lollapalooza and Xbox audiences mirror each other, we jumped at the opportunity to be a presenting sponsor with the tour, and provide fans with the combination of technology and entertainment that is sweeping the nation. We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of everything Lollapalooza symbolizes.”
“Presented by Xbox” will be printed when referencing Lollapalooza, the Xbox logo will be prominently placed on all advertising, tickets and materials, and will be included in all media promotions.
