XBOX Unveils "Live Now"
written by: Dale Alan Mayrose on 8/16/2003 1:46:00 PM

When it launches in October, Live Now will deliver what the Xbox Live community has asked for the most – a place where you can hang out and talk with your friends before and after competing on Xbox Live. Live Now also kick starts your experience on Xbox Live, providing a window into all the great things happening on the service each day from the moment you turn on your Xbox.

With Live Now you can:

  • Connect to the Live community every time you turn on your Xbox
  • Chat with friends before starting a game so you can make game decisions, plot strategy, etc.
  • See who’s online and what they’re playing.
  • View announcements about exciting new Xbox Live programming including content downloads, tournaments, new titles and other exciting events and promotions on the service.

If you’re subscribed to Xbox Live, Live Now is extremely easy to use. Simply turn on your Xbox and if there is no disk in the box, it will take you to the Live Now page.

Xbox is also making it easier for gamers to get onto Xbox Live with new subscription options and updated starter kits.

Beginning in October, Xbox Live will be available at the following prices:

  • $49.99- Xbox Live one year renewal/subscription.
  • $5.99- Xbox Live monthly rate.
  • $29.99- Xbox Live Voice Communicator.
  • $69.99- Xbox Live Starter Kit (includes full version of MechAssault and Xbox Communicator headset)

Live Now and the new Xbox Live subscription options will be available in October.
