The official announcement from Bungie states that Halo 2 will be released this Fall. Gamespot has more news and the first multiplayer screen shots. Go check it out.

Gamers Europe has posted their preview of Halo 2. Here is a snippet of what they had to say:
"You thought the original was good? Well you ain't seen nothing until you've played the second, or at least that's what we're being told. Improved AI, improved plot and well let's just say improved everything, Halo 2 might be a long way off but we already know a lot about it."
